A NOTE ON THIS YEAR’S HIGH HOLY DAYS @ CBB

Friday, August 20, 2021

Thank you for your patience as we finalize the schedule and protocols for High Holy Days at CBB. With Rosh Hashanah just two weeks away, please read entire page for information about what to expect this year.

We will be offering a high-quality livestream for all main Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur services (see schedule below). For those of us really longing to be in-person for at least one or two services, we are offering very limited capacity seating at our indoor main services during our livestream productions (RSVPs, vaccinations and masks required).

Participants should prepare for a “studio experience” with a camera crew that may interrupt sightlines at times. Some elements of the main services will be pre-recorded, and there will be no live choir.

Additionally, we are offering some outdoor options, including early morning outdoor services and family services on the CBB back patio, as well as two outdoor services at Stearns Wharf on Kol Nidre.

We’d like to extend a huge thank you to the members of the CBB Reopening Taskforce, clergy, staff, and congregation leaders for keeping the health and safety of our community at the forefront of all of our plans.

Finally, in light of all the developing news about breakthrough cases even among the vaccinated, you will be doing a great mitzvah if you decide to stay at home and join us remotely this year.

Please make the choice that feels best for you and your family and know that we as a Temple community will once again find a way to welcome the Jewish New Year for us all with depth, with meaning, and with love.

Rabbi Stephen E. Cohen               Diane Zipperstein, President              Elizabeth Gaynes, Executive Director

Do not attend if you have recently been exposed to a confirmed case of COVID.  No children under the age of 12 will be permitted for indoor services during High Holy Days. (Family services will be held outdoors.)

OUTDOOR Services:  Masks are required for anyone two years or older during High Holy Days on the CBB campus and for services on the Wharf.

When parking in the neighborhood: Please be considerate of our neighbors. Please be careful when parking and walking on the streets surrounding CBB. Do not block driveways, and be aware of private property and landscaping.

GIVING

High Holy Days Donations

Thank you for your tax deductible donation, earmarked High Holy Days Donations, which helps us fulfill our mission of being a diverse, inclusive group of individuals and families building together a vibrant house of living Judaism all year long.

Dedicate HHD Prayer Books

Thanks to a generous gift from Sara Miller McCune and Marlene Gordon Beckerman and Family, CBB is using a new set of prayer books for the High Holy Days. These editions represent the first new High Holy Days texts to be introduced in the Reform Movement in nearly 40 years. You can support CBB and dedicate sets of the new books to remember a loved one, celebrate a lifecycle occasion, or honor clergy, family and friends.  A personalized bookplate will be placed in each set of the volumes currently used in CBB’s High Holy Day services.  Order your dedication today!

Unity Shoppe Food Drive

With school back in session, it’s an exciting time of the year for many children, but there are thousands of low-income families living in our Community who face a shortage of food at home. As members of CBB you can make a HUGE difference that will go DIRECTLY to families in need.

Help Unity Shoppe fill its empty shelves with canned, (plastic) jarred, and boxed goods. Specifically, peanut butter, jelly, mac & cheese boxes, pasta, boxed long-grain rice, cans of beans and corn.

Donation bins will be placed outside CBB between Erev Rosh Hashanah and Simchat Torah for donations. YOUR SUPPORT is very much appreciated!

Your Contribution Makes a Difference! Thank You.
