We want to make it easy for you to get connected at CBB. We do our best to make sure you feel welcome at CBB.
We have two programs to welcome new members and begin the process of nurturing what we hope will be a life long relationship.
Meet The Rabbi
Senior Rabbi Steve Cohen wants to meet every new member and to this end you can expect a call from Audrey Okaneko, Rabbi’s Secretary, to make an appointment. If you would like to meet with the Rabbi before you join we can set that up too. Contact Audrey and make an appointment – firstname.lastname@example.org or 805/964-7869 x 13.
New Member Orientation
This program acquaints new members with the Temple and gives new members an opportunity to get to know other people, including the clergy team. The program is divided into 2 sessions and is offered twice a year, dinner the Spring and in the Fall.
Session One – Shabbat Dinner at CBB
A lovely Shabbat dinner hosted by CBB prior to our Friday night Shabbat services. Celebrate Shabbat with other new members, a member of our clergy team, a handful of long-time members, staff and the Board of Trustees.
Session Two – Dinner with Rabbi
This is an intimate dinner with Rabbi Cohen and his wife Marian at their home. Introductions begin the evening, followed by a special dinner prepared by one of CBB’s members. The evening concludes with the Rabbi gathering everyone together again and engaging the group in a discussion about Temple, expectations, and how to get involved.
