Mechina (preparation) is designed especially for 11th and 12th grade students who want to continue with their long-time Jewish education, return to their Jewish education or start from the beginning by connecting with other teen peers in a Jewish setting.  No previous experience required! All 11th/12th grade students are welcome.

Taught  by Rabbi Daniel Brenner, the class will meet at 7:30-9 PM on the 1st, 3rd (and when applicable, 5th) Wednesdays of each month. The class will include discussions related to major aspects of college life (which might not be covered in school), issues of intersectionality, Israel, Jewish life on campus, sexual and gender identity, school/life balance, using Jewish values to guide your adult life, and more.

Additionally, the class will include a trip to Sacramento*, where we will lobby on an issue of their choice.  The trip is not required to be part of the class, but participation in the class is a requirement for the trip.

*Tuition does not include fees for the Sacramento trip as it is optional (but  highly recommended).
