100 Yearsof

Please join us in 2027 to celebrate
CBB’s Centennial.
More information to come!
For 100 years, Congregation B’nai B’rith has been a home for Jewish life in Santa Barbara – a place where families have gathered, where children have grown, and where our community has faced every chapter of history with strength and with one another. This centennial belongs to all of us.
Thank you for being part of the story that has shaped us into who we are today.

Our story
CBB’s roots reach back to the early 1920s, when a small group of Jewish families began gathering for services in Santa Barbara living rooms and community halls. In 1927, the congregation was formally chartered. From those humble beginnings, CBB has grown into one of the most vibrant Jewish communities on the Central Coast. We have moved and built and rebuilt, welcomed new clergy and new families, navigated loss and celebrated milestones, all while holding fast to the values of tzedakah, tikkun olam, and l’dor v’dor – from generation to generation.
