On December 14th 2012, in ten chaotic minutes in Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, Adam Lanza shot and killed twenty children and six adult staff members who died trying to protect their kids.  We had all grown increasingly numb to gun violence, after one mass shooting after another.  But the slaughter of twenty small children in their school classrooms shook us all to the core.  And in the days following that heart-breaking morning, our political leaders swore that at last there would be comprehensive new gun legislation.  Now four months later, the time has come to see if we as a nation are ready to make these changes.  Tomorrow, Tuesday April 9th, is national interfaith call-in day to demand comprehensive gun legislation.   On Tuesday, please join me and take a minute to call 1-888-897-0174 and let our senators know that you are a member of a synagogue in Santa Barbara and support new legislation for gun control.  For more info go to www.faithscalling.org.
