Dawning Days of Awe

By Dawn Dunn

If today were a word,

What shape would emerge

  Float up from beyond

Within consciousness’ gaze

Amorphous or crystalline

Prescient or obscure:

     perched on peaks afar

Spontaneity

Pulsing beat

Spark — ebullient & rich

A rarified fusion of “being”

It would affirm joy

Not masquerade as theater

A gem

A melody

A tapestry

Mirth personified

Now entering with awe & rapt attention

  Those days, these ancient days

Retrospection, recognition, return, repair, repentance & reckoning

A limitless recounting of our season

As we turn, turn, turn —

Solitary standing — all aligned

Willingly bowed in praise & faith

Shadows cast

Amends amassed

Shofar’s blasts

A beacon of the blessed

Omniscient One

So now, with solemn vow

T’Shuvah

To YOU

For YOU

With & for US

T’Shuvah
