Jason Raede: How You Can Help Support the 300,000 Israeli Reservists

As you know we are dealing with an unprecedented call-up of reserve units to fight against Hamas. These are fathers, students, waiters, engineers, doctors, lawyers, construction workers…everyday people who have dropped everything to help defend the people of Israel from terrorism, and rescue our hostages, and the innocent Palestinian people, from the evils of Hamas.

The IDF simply does not have enough supplies to support the 300,000 reservists called up for active combat duty. Several groups of Israeli civilians have begun sourcing, purchasing, and delivering supplies to these units to ensure that they are equipped in the best way possible for their mission.

This is by far the most impactful thing that we in the United States can be doing right now to support Israel.

My “Israeli dad” from my army days, Shmil Tapiro, has been working around the clock to get his hands on equipment and personally delivering it to our soldiers on t0he outskirts of the Gaza strip. We have already delivered desperately-needed boots, tactical gloves, headlamps, and mattresses to my former reserve unit, and the “legend of Shmil” has spread to the point where he has requests from dozens of units.

We were able to go from idea to delivery in less than 36 hours. This is the most efficient way we can help our soldiers, and we are expanding this operation and we need your support.

This isn’t a tax-deductible donation to a 501c3. This is money that will go straight to the purchase of this urgently needed equipment, which will then be delivered directly to the soldiers that need it. You’re going to have to trust me and Shmil that we are doing this in the most efficient way possible. Anyone who donates will receive an email with information on where their money went and who they helped.

The best way to donate it is to donate to our PayPal Fundraiser, which I am then forwarding via international bank transfer to Shmil. From there he has been purchasing the equipment from his contacts and delivering it to the front lines. We are also working on ways of purchasing equipment here in the US and shipping it to Israel via El Al flights.
